WelcomeWelcome to the online home of the North of Trinidad Steel Drum Band!The North of Trinidad Steel Drum Band is one of Northeastern Ohio’s only steel drum bands that anyone can join regardless of past musical experience. The band is taught by University of Akron music school graduate Ronald Martin, who played with the University’s award winning steel drum band for 6 years. North of Trinidad’s membership is made up of a very diverse group of people who are students, college professors and a variety of other professions. Our members range in age from 12-65. So, no matter who you are or how old you are, if you would like to learn to play steel drums and join a really fun band (or book the band) this is the place for you. About Our Steel Drums:The North of Trinidad’s steel drums come directly from the home and birthplace of the steel drum, Trinidad. All of our drums are chromed with the exception of the bass drums which are black powder coat. Our drums are tuned and maintained by steel drum tuner/builder Billy Sheeder. |
